In the past, my favorite game translation is that of the Japanese title of the RPG, but it wasn’t until I heard of the success of the Japanese version of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel that I really began to think about the subject. And now that I’ve played the English version, I have to say that it is quite surprising to me how well NIS America was able to translate the game for their English fans. I personally grew up playing the Trails of Cold Steel series in Japan and I thought that the game was a lot of fun. I just hope that they continue to localize more games from this series.

NIS America, the American publisher of the Trails series of JRPGs, has announced that it will be localizing the last two games in the series, Trails of Cold Steel and Trails of Cold Steel II, for American audiences. The publisher recently announced that it had acquired the rights to both games, and both will be published in North America, Europe, and Australia.

NIS America, the American subsidiary of Nippon Ichi Software (NIS) that handles publishing and localization of the hit PlayStation 3 games Disgaea and Phantom Brave, has announced two new games that will be localizing for them. The first is the game series that started the otome game craze, Four Trails, which is currently on its third installment in Japan. The second is the series of first person shooters that spawned an anime, Radiant Silvergun. Both will be localized in 2014, according to a report from Gematsu.

During Nihon Falcom’s 40th anniversary celebration, NIS America announced four games of Trails that will be localized over the next two years. These trail games include Hajimari no Kiseki, which is now Trails Into Reverie, as well as Trails to Zero, Trails to Azure , and The Legend of Nayuta (Nayuta no Kiseki), which have yet to be located.

NIS America has also announced that it will use the text from the Geofront fan translation group as the basis for Zero and Azure.

Each game will release simultaneously on PlayStation 4, PC via GOG, Steam and Epic Games Store, and Nintendo Switch.

Here’s when to expect them all.

Trails Into Reverie Release Date

.

Reverie is scheduled for release in 2023. There is no indication of when this might happen in 2023, but a release date in the fall of 2023 would make sense.

Trails to Zero Western Release Date and Trails to Azure Western Release Date

.

Trails to Zero will be released in the fall of 2022, and its direct sequel, Trails to Azure, is scheduled for 2023. Since Reverie completes the story that began in those games, Azure will likely be released earlier in 2023.

Legend of NayutaRelease date

.

Nayuta is also scheduled for an uncertain release date in 2023. This is a spin-off action RPG set in a world vaguely similar to the world of Zemuria in the main gamesTrails , and never released outside of Japan.

NIS America has not yet announced plans for the localization of Kuro no Kiseki, which is due out in Japan in September 2021. However, this is to be expected when working on four text-intensive projects simultaneously.

And if you think that’s a lot of leads, you’re right. Luckily for you, we’ve already explained how they’re put together and why they’re worth your time.NIS America is a localization company that has brought game series like Disgaea, Atelier, and Hyperdimension Neptunia to North America. Their second localization project is a game series called “The Trails series” (the first two games in the series are called “Trails of Cold Steel” and “Trails of Cold Steel II”). Currently, the games in the Trails series have been only released in Japan for PC and are very popular domestically.. Read more about geofront and let us know what you think.
