One of the league’s most elite players stated that he is not sure if Ben Simmons will be ready to play in his first game. Embiid didn’t think twice about voicing this opinion, without even considering how it would affect Simmons’ psyche and confidence moving forward.

“Where is Ben Simmons from?” is a question that has been asked multiple times in recent days. Joel Embiid recently responded to the question, but his response was not well received by some. Read more in detail here: where is ben simmons from.

Joel Embiid Shows an Utter Lack of Self-Awareness With His Recent Ben Simmons Comments

The Philadelphia 76ers thought their All-Star tandem of Joel Embiid is a forward for the Philadelphia 76ers. and Ben Simmons would be enough to take them to the summit of the NBA mountain. However, after last season’s devastating playoff collapse, it became clear that all parties needed to change.

Simmons was traded to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for superstar James Harden after trade demands and a multi-month standoff. He and Embiid are no longer teammates, and the two erstwhile buddies are now division enemies in an Eastern Conference that is rich with talent.

The Process detailed his side of the Simmons divorce during a recent interview on The Draymond Green Show. However, when it came to explaining why his former point guard decided to leave Philly, the big guy was off the mark.

With a 49-23 record, the Sixers earned the top seed in the East for the 2020-21 season. They just needed to overcome Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks to go to their first Eastern Conference Final since 2001 after cruising through the Washington Wizards in the first round.

What happened after that was a bad turn of events, especially for Simmons. Over the course of the series, the 2016 first-round selection disappeared into the background, averaging 9.9 points in 34.5 minutes. However, he was at his poorest in crunch time, missing three field-goal tries in each of the seven fourth quarters.

With 3:29 remaining in the game, Simmons made the worst decision of his career by opting to pass out of a wide-open dunk that would have knotted the game. Atlanta would go on to win the game 103-96, sending the Sixers home early for the second time this season.

Embiid didn’t give his teammate any favors after the Game 7 defeat.

“I’ll tell you the truth. “I think the pivotal moment was when we had an open shot and, you know, we hit one free throw and missed the other, and they came down and scored,” Embiid said at his postgame news conference. “But, um, I thought it was the turning moment,” says the narrator.

In Game 7, Embiid scored 31 points and 11 rebounds, while Simmons had five points. It was the final time the two rising stars would play as teammates on the same floor.

After the 76ers’ heartbreaking Game 7 loss, it became clear that Simmons’ tenure with the team was coming to an end. The three-time All-Star held out in the hopes of being dealt before being forced to sit out the full season due to mental health issues.

On The Draymond Green Show, Embiid shared his side of the story as he prepares to make his Nets debut. Surprisingly, the MVP candidate had no idea what had prompted Simmons to want out.

Embiid told Green, “I didn’t understand what transpired, what led to the entire issue.” “I still don’t understand….” I understand his reasoning, but there are a few things that don’t add up.”

Green then challenged his All-Star opponent whether his post-Game 7 remarks had anything to do with the team’s elimination.

“I don’t believe so. You’re a member of the media, and you just said that they would constantly attempt to pick up little details in order to stir up controversy and so on. They asked me a question during the whole press conference. ‘How did it happen?’ ‘How did this happen?’ Then I proceeded to list a series of events that occurred. I have stated where it all began. And, you know, I was telling it like it was.”

Joel Embiid is a forward for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Embiid said, “I stated what I wanted to say.” “I’m not going to hold myself back merely to make others happy.” And I don’t think I injured anyone’s emotions.”

It’s difficult to argue with Embiid’s general point of view. The game was decided by Simmons’ missed dunk attempt in Game 7. However, the Process’ allegation that he has no idea why his ex-teammate wants out is tone deaf.

After his awful playoff performance, Simmons became a national laughingstock. Fans of the Sixers were already booing him. Add in Embiid, the team’s best player, who sees his dunk blunder as the start of the end.

There’s also a comment from Embiid from training camp. NBC Sports Philadelphia queried the star center about Simmons’ absence, and the 7-footer said, “I don’t care about that dude.”

Why did Simmons want to go, exactly?

Simmons could have done a lot of things differently. However, Embiid’s comments and actions during the playoff defeat and in the months that followed undoubtedly contributed to the guard feeling unable to play in 2021-22. Either Embiid is aware of this and is lying, or he is completely devoid of self-awareness.

For what it’s worth, when the Nets and Sixers played in Philadelphia a few days ago, the two stars didn’t even recognize one other. A playoff series between the two is, without a doubt, on every basketball fan’s wish list.
