It’s been a while since the Los Angeles Lakers had a player of Isaiah Thomas’ skills, and it could be a big year for the team. In January, the Lakers lost their franchise player in Kobe Bryant, and simply need to sign the right players to help them contend for a championship. With the number one overall pick in the draft, the Lakers can add a player like Ohio State guard D’Angelo Russell or Duke forward Jayson Tatum. They could also trade for Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James to form a new super team. The Lakers could also add another high draft pick and sign Thomas.

The recent trade of Isaiah Thomas to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Kyrie Irving and other players has raised plenty of questions and speculations about what will happen to the four-time All-Star and current face of the Boston Celtics.

With the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Lakers about to come to an end, a potential star in the midst of a rebuilding year is about to hit the open market. That player is Isaiah Thomas. The 29-year-old Thomas is currently a free agent after being traded to the Cavs in February with Jae Crowder and other assets. He will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, and the consensus is he will be highly sought after by a number of teams looking to build a team around him. One of those teams is the Lakers.. Read more about isaiah thomas lakers and let us know what you think.

Isaiah Thomas, a former NBA veteran, put himself back on the radar after scoring 81 points in a pro-am game in Seattle. He’s now searching for a way back into the NBA, and LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are among his pursuers.

Thomas had a short time with the Los Angeles Lakers late in his career, appearing in 17 games for the team during the 2017-18 season. He had already performed with James in Cleveland earlier that year.

Thomas’ NBA career was cut short due to injuries, but if he’s fit enough to score 81 points in a pro-am game, a return to the league isn’t out of the question.

With the Boston Celtics, Isaiah Thomas had a great career and an all-time season.

Thomas was one of the NBA’s most entertaining players to watch during his time with the Boston Celtics and his exploits during the 2016-17 season. He was athletic and capable of scoring at 5-foot-9, but he was also passionate, rough, and nasty. His motto might have been “don’t leave anything on the court.” However, injuries soon ruined the point guard’s career after the Celtics’ playoff success that year. The next season, he only appeared in 32 games for the Cavaliers and Lakers before retiring from the NBA.

During the 2016-17 season, Thomas averaged a career-high 28.9 points per game. He was the captain of the Boston Bruins during their historic playoff run to the Eastern Conference Finals. He scored 53 points in an overtime victory in the second round of the playoffs two weeks after his sister’s death, on her birthday. He battled through a hip injury throughout the playoffs, which terminated his NBA career. He was the driving force behind the Celtics’ success.

However, his performance in the Seattle pro-am league has caught the attention of NBA clubs, including James.

One of the most amazing tales of the last decade is his passion and drive to play through everything in 2016-17. However, it left an indelible mark on his career, as he only appeared in 87 more games over the next four seasons.

After scoring 40 points in the first half alone in Seattle, the University of Washington player finds himself back on the NBA’s radar. He looked and scored like his old self on all three levels. Because of the competition, his score total should be taken with a grain of salt, but 81 isn’t bad.

The Los Angeles Lakers are among the clubs who have shown interest in Isaiah Thomas.

Teams all around the league are clearly reluctant to re-sign Thomas. His past few seasons did not go as planned, and he still has an injury history. If he were to return, the Lakers would be an intriguing match.

He wouldn’t be returning to LA as a major player. In spot duty, he’d probably just get a few minutes, particularly as he gets back into NBA form. Thomas, on the other hand, would be in the company of perhaps the greatest player of all time, LeBron James, and another superstar, Anthony Davis. The Lakers started to flesh out their squad after signing Russell Westbrook from Washington, but any team with James as the focal point could use more shooting and playmaking.

In addition, Thomas would offer something intangible to Los Angeles. Even in his finest seasons, the tiny point guard showed a lot of passion on the court. He wouldn’t take anything for granted after battling to be fit and return to the league. His positive attitude and strong work ethic would spread across whatever team he joins.

Thomas’ career was cut short due to an injury. That’s a big issue for any athlete, particularly one who’s 32 years old and hasn’t had a good season in years. However, the Lakers, along with James, would be taking a low-risk, high-reward gamble on a player who has twice been named an all-star and has a track record in the playoffs. Both the individual and the team have a chance. Now it’s just a matter of waiting to see whether LA will act.

With the Russell Westbrook trade, LeBron James continues to prove that he is the NBA’s most powerful general manager.

The Los Angeles Lakers were reportedly very high on Isaiah Thomas when the Cleveland Cavaliers traded for him in February 2017. The Lakers were planning on making the 28-year-old an offer to join them in the summer, but the Cavs had other plans. They opted to move Thomas in order to acquire a first round pick for him..
